Success of the Goût de France 2021 operation [fr]
The sixth edition of Goût de/Good France took place from 14 to 22 October and was a great success in Cyprus. This event aims to highlighting French know-how and gastronomy throughout the world. The two themes were the Centre-Val de Loire region and the sustainable cuisine.
The Embassy benefited from the support of its local partners. Seventeen establishments were present (twelve restaurants and five delicatessens). This is the record number of participants in Cyprus. While some were long-standing partners, new establishments embarked on their first Goût de France on this occasion. Most of the establishments offered a sensorial experience based on French recipes and products, but also with a French atmosphere (music, decoration, etc.).
The French Embassy would like to thank its partners who, despite the short notice, contributed to the development of French gastronomy in Cyprus : Pralina Experience, Wine and More by French Depot, Peiragmena, PAUL, Kantina Quality Foods, Bavarian Delicatessen, Au Bon Plaisir, La Main du Roi, Le Bordeaux Bistro & Wine Bar, Le Frenchie Bistro Restaurant, La Maison Fleurie and Chez Faina-Fayrouz Brasserie & Bar.
The Embassy also organised a gala dinner at the Residence of France. The gala dinner took place in a convivial atmosphere and was greatly appreciated by the guests. Chef Dominique Benihoud cooked a French-style dinner in six courses served with wines from the Centre-Val de Loire. The dessert inspired by a Kandinsky painting was particularly noteworthy.
