On Thursday, 19 March 2015, all around the world, restaurants will offer more than 1300 dinners to celebrate France’s gastronomy by inviting the public to share a “French dinner”. In each participating restaurant, the event will render homage to a vibrant, open and innovative cuisine, while remaining true to its values of sharing, pleasure, and respect for good food, and for the planet. This first Goût de France / Good France event has already proved successful, with more participants than anticipated.
In Cyprus also, the Goût de France / Good France operation will take place with these events :
The Ambassador of France in Cyprus, HEM. Jean Luc Florent, will host a gastronomic diner with well-known Cypriots. The diner will be cooked by the French Chef Harry le Prévost, who exercised his talents in France, in New York and in Germany, and the French Chef Dominique Malacarne, who heads a catering service in Nicosia.

The High gastronomy restaurant Mavrommatis in Limassol (Four Season Hotel) has been chosen by the Goût de France / Good France operation’s international selection committee of Chefs chaired by Alain Ducasse. The Chef Andreas Mavrommatis, together with the Chef of the restaurant, will propose to his guests a discovery of the French gastronomy with a carefully chosen set of recipes, illustrating French culinary arts’ excellency.

Following this operation, other events will also be organized by the French Institute of Cyprus to honor French gastronomy:
French Chef Harry Le Prévost, together with French Chef Dominique Malacarne, will prepare a Mediterranean gastronomic meal with the students of the Higher Hotel institute of Cyprus. It will be served to tourism and hotel industry profesionals on Friday, 20 March 2015 in the restaurant of the Institute. Harry le Prévost will also give a conference on French cuisine in a three Michelin stars restaurant to the students of the Institute.
The French Institute of Cyprus and Leventis Foundation will organize an evening dedicated to « paintings and gastronomy » on Tuesday, 24 March 2015, during which a special will be given to the French paintings of the exhibition. It will be followed by a gastronomic diner with one recipe being inspired by one of the paintings.
