Around 50 French companies attended the workshop with numerous Cypriot private or public entities
Business France received in Paris on October, 9th an important delegation of Cypriot firms led by Giorgos Lakkotrypis, Minister of Energy, trade, industry and tourism. Various sectors were represented: hydrocarbon industry, health, shipping, telecommunications, food industry, audit and accountability, etc. The Ambassador of France in Cyprus, Mr. Jean-Luc Florent, also accompanied the delegation.
Conceived as an exchange platform, this event organized by Business France Paris and Athens (competent on South-eastern Europe) the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (French-Cyprus Business Association), the Embassy of the Republic Cyprus in France and the Embassy of France in Cyprus.
The event was divided in two parts:
A first part dedicated to business environment and opportunities of the Cypriot market, with speeches delivered by the Minister, the Directors of the Cyprus Investment Agency, of the Cyprus Tourism Agency, of the Cyprus Shipping Agency and the Commissioner for privatization;
A second part was dedicated to the realities of business in Cyprus, through testimonies of Cypriot and French firms about past experiences and success stories.
In the afternoon, around 40 individual meetings were organized with the main speakers and a dozen of Cypriot firms’ representatives.
