The French Institute of Cyprus, in partnership with the Cyprus Institute and the University of Cyprus, organized a conference on climate change on October 12, 2015. The French researcher François-Marie Bréon, Deputy Director of the Climate and Environment sciences laboratory and co-writer of the IPCC report on global warming, came especially to Cyprus for this conference to discuss climate change across the planet. Two Cypriot researchers also intervened at this conference: Pano Hadjinicolaou, associate-researcher at the Cyprus Institute and Marina Neophytou, Professor at the University of Cyprus.
During his address, the Cultural Counsellor of the French Embassy and Director of the French Institute of Cyprus emphasized the importance of the coming climate conference (COP21) which will be held in Paris in November and December 2015. He also reminded the activities of the French Institute in support of the international mobilization on global warming.
Mr. Bréon, during his visit in Cyprus, gave two interviews, one to the Cypriot newspaper O Phileleftheros and another one to the Cyprus News Agency.
