Biography of Mr René TROCCAZ [el] [fr] [tr]


René Troccaz is a career diplomat (Counsellor of Foreign Affairs, Uppermost Rank). He was appointed French Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus by a decree of the President of the French Republic, issued on December 15th 2015.

His professional experience has led him particularly to work on cooperation matters and to serve in countries in the Mediterranean Sea and the Middle East.

Former positions:

-  Director of the Programs and the Cooperation and Cultural Action Network (Directorate-General for Globalization), from 2012 to 2015

-  Deputy Head of Staff to the Minister of Cooperation (Henri de Raincourt), from 2010 to 2012

-  Advisor, Member of the Staff of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Bernard Kouchner) in 2010

-  Cultural Counsellor at the French Embassy in Rabat (Morocco), from 2006 to 2009

-  Deputy Consul General in Jerusalem, from 2003 to 2006

-  Special Advisor to the Director General for the Administration in 2002

-  In charge of Euro-Mediterranean Affairs in the Directorate for European Cooperation, from 2000 to 2002

-  First Secretary at the French Embassy in Greece (Athens) from 1996 to 2000

-  Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Directorate for Economic and Financial Affairs), from 1991 to 1996
